De-hydrating food??

Has anybody ever de-hrydrated your own fresh food mixes instead of freezing them - so they can be feed to the fish at small regular intervals via an automatic feeder instead of having to do it manually????

Do you think this would lower the nutrional value of the food vs freezing it?

few issues I can see with this... first one is dehydrated food like you're talking about don't sink until they are rehydrated... and rehydration makes them big. Also, with lower water activity, oxidation of fats is going to be faster. Maybe just try a good quality pellet or flake in auto feeders and then add frozen morning and night when you're around?

Dear benmcdonald, De-hydrated foods are always good for fish It has a lot of advantages. It facilitates easy oxidation ion the aquatic system.
It equally makes the animal to be big, this is because of the fat the dehyrated food supply to them. You can just improve on the quality of the type of stuff you are using to prepare the mash.
