Cleaning BRT

Cleaning BRT

Postby Frankyreef » Mon Jul 13, 2015 10:00 am

Dear collegues ;-)

I have probably a stupid question... I have observed many of you are using BRT for larvae.
How do you clean the bottom?
For my small aquaria with larvae, I remove few seconds the cover of the side to be sure to don't siphon the larvae but how can I do in a BRT?
Thank you per advance!
Have a nice day!

You can syphon the bottom through a fine mesh or sieve that larvae can not fit through.

Ok, thanks for your answer!
I was afraid to touch the larvae and to damaged them with the mesh...

A soft mesh is sufficient and safe. As long as you're not siphoning with extremely high pressures... which I doubt you are doing anyways.
