How cool! and disturbing at the same time. Why would this species just show up at this time? What would cause a mass spawning? And why were they all beached?

I think more to teh point is just what species it is! according to teh articale they have not been able to identify it yet apart from being a crustacean.

I was thinking perhaps the original creature that cyclopeeze where bio-engineered from, considering teh size and colour adn that they were found in a lagoon with lots of freshwater run off [assumption].

I guess all will be revealed once they identify them.

(the Wulik River and a lagoon turned color and orange water was reported up to 150 miles from Kivalina), even though the goo has dissipated within the last week. Also, what is the lasting effect on other wildlife, since the sliminess turned into airborne powder when it dried?

Interesting as it sounds like the eggs turned into cysts
