anyone know any special requirements for shipping ornamentals to puerto rico? is it like shipping to other states or more like hawaii?

Judging on the U.S.D.A.'s treatment of the island, I would not expect heavy restrictions on the imported species of ornamentals. However, with invasives such as lionfish on the rise in Caribbean waters, regulations may be changing.

I would strongly suspect that the regulation would be much more relaxed than Hawai'i. Generally, agricultural imports to the island are quite relaxed, and one only encounters problems when exporting. This may be due to the ease of control for invasives (island vs. continental U.S.). Also, this is only speaking for the gricultural sector of regulation.
