My adventure at...tide pools!

Over spring break I am in San Diego, got in late last night. Today I went to the tidepools! I took most of these pics, unless my hands are in them, in that instance Richard took the pics cuz well, I had critters in my hands!

The absolute highlight of my adventures at the tide pools, however, was catching this guy!!!!!

Here he is munching on a crab. Notice that in a few of the remaining pictures he took his dinner "to go"

Very nice, now send me some of that livestock back for my temperate tank. That fish i believe is a gunnel.

Believe me, if I could collect stuff I would've brought back a TON of hermit crabs! I've got a mantis shrimp that loves those things! That octo would've had his own tank too....

Thanks for the compliments guys! And yes Kathy, I am thoroughly enjoying my visit here...it's wonderful! I got a fishing license which allows me to collect local fauna from tidepools at this particular place. So, I have a small tank set up in my hotel room so that I could catch the critters and take pics of them later

The green fish is def a gunnel. I needz those barnacles for my tank. lol. I did some tidepooling last summer when I was out in California. I went just above Half Moon Bay.

FYI... You may want to check with Gresham though it may be illegal to handle these specimens in addition to collection.

Thanks for the concern, but after checking the local fish and wildlife rules and regulations, all I needed was a fishing license. However, even with the fishing license I had to be careful and collect at the right places.
