Pygoplites diacanthus

Hey everyone, I just ordered a eating Pygoplites diacanthus (Regal Angel). It is the yellow belly variant from the Red Sea. These fish are known to be VERY finicky eaters but NY aquatics (where I'm ordering it from) only ships Regal's that are eating. It will ship Monday and get here Tuesday. Wish me luck!

I have one in my display tank doing well

give her plenty time to acclimate and be shy for a while....

BTW-
a trick I often employ for getting finicky eaters to eat when they arrive at the facility-
immediately after offering food the first time- hit the food particles with a red laser light...
fresh/salt water fish both usually find the red light envigorating and irresistable....
once the fish has tasted the food- the rest is up to her

How long have you found that it takes finicky eaters/Regals to eat? Mine is eating some but she is VERY shy she will grab a few peices then retreat back to her cave. I've only had her 3 days so I assume this is normal? I'm feeding mysis, nori, scallops, and krill.
