Need tips on pairing Maroon clownfish.

Hello everyone. I need some tips on pairing Maroon clowns. I currently have a 2in maroon that I would like to breed. My LFS has a potential mate that I want to buy. That one is 4in. Do I use a divider in case of fighting? Some helpful tips on whoever has been successful on breeding maroons.

If you have a single clown that you have had for a while, if is suggested to get a smaller clown, not larger. How long have you had the 2" clown? You will most likely be better getting a juvenile to pair with the clown you have.

I have had this clown for about 2 weeks. So you recomend on getting a smaller on? Wouldnt the small one get picked on? So its the opposite. I thought you had to get a bigger one. So being the only clown in the tank, It would be female correct?

It depends how long the clown has been alone. If you only had it for two weeks, it's hard to guess. Where did you get the fish....did it's partner die? Or did you get it from a store? If you put two equal fish together the will fight more because it is not so obvious who the dominant fish is. The smaller one may get picked on, but will realize he can't win, or he will die. ;)
