i bought it from a ma and pop lfs and they had it labeled as a long tentacle, but after looking at countless pictures and descriptions of long tentacles, im not so sure. it has a long tubular body that is attached to the back of this rock so that made me look up tube anemones and i havent been able to find one that looks like this so im stumped...

Looks to me like any regular old Condylactis anemone to me...

Yep, it is Condylactis gigantea.

It is from the caribbean so it is not a natural clownfish hoast, but given time, I've had clownfish live in them. Also you must be careful with tankmates, as they are notorious fish-eaters. They will even eat clownfish if the clowns aren't carefull....

On the positive site, they are incredibly hearty, and will thrive in horrible water quality and with next to no light. And thay usually cost less than $10.
