Parhippolyte uveae

Parhippolyte uveae

Postby Luis A M » Sun Aug 10, 2008 3:51 pm

The sugar cane shrimp (Baensch Atlas, page 482) belongs to the family Hippolytidae and is related to Lysmata.
They recently showed in a lfs and I just got two.But I don´t know if they are hermaphrodite like Lysmata.
Anybody has some keeping-breeding experience to share here?

Hi Luis,

I've seen some around in Singapore. Never really worked with them although they look somewhat like the typical Lysmata shrimps as they were from a different genus. They do seem to occur naturally in very large groups.
