I know 24x is too high for good pictures
But it’s as low as my new toy goes
And I found the minute details interesting
5 days old

Between remodeling the house and setting up a fish room I haven’t had the time to play with the shrimp
Had an idea to collect the larva via the stand pipe worked pretty good
First batch on 2-11 got about 40 they did get beat up on the ride modified the setup a little so they went into a 10g and got about 60 on 2-12 that made it threw a lot better
Of the first batch I have about 15 - 20 left
There in a 2g fishbowl plumed into the brood stock system (I haven’t got fry system even started yet )
Low flow hardly any current in the tank ( no air ) temp 64 fed nhbbs 1 day bbs frozen cyclopeeze & flake

second batch still about 60
There in a 10g plumed into the brood stock system Low flow hardly any current in the tank air stone in corner of tank set low temp 64 fed nhbbs 1 day bbs frozen cyclopeeze & flake

Seeing I had the larva I thought I would give them a shot
I’m working on setting up a better temp system for the next batch

It's going pretty good haven't lost many
can see the spear legs on a lot of them
so far running at room temp doesn't seem to be a problem with them
I have them all in one 10g now (needed the space for some kuda fry )

just have them in a pretty basic setup

water turnover is about once an hour

next time will have the 3 sides painted

and will still manually block any places that get too much light

imo when the light isn't too intense the larva and food concentrate in the same area with out searching for it and banging into the glass too much

couldn't get any pictures to turn out of the baby shrimp

will put a pick of the whole system once it's set up a little more

from what I have read should just have to wait and hope they settle

that is unless I f something up by then

Screwed up some how
They started to disappear a few days before I went on vac when I got back there wasn’t any left
Couldn’t see any dead bodies possibly got past the screen into the stand pipe
Wish I knew so I knew what not to do next time lol
Have adult shrimp in there new tanks so should be able to start round 3 soon
Going to go with a brt next time with a dual stand pipe
Think I will need to order some more mesh screen
Only have the dual standpipes with 600 micron now
witch I think would be too big
Think 250 would work? or stick with 150

600 is way to big, I think that 150 might be OK I use 120 in my snagger and they dont seem to get through it
