L. boggessi breeding [KONDOR]

Postby konradzior » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:15 pm

HELLO!

I start my adventure of breeding marine organisms. I have some experience with breeding some species of apistogramma >> small fish from amazonia jungle... Im new in on this forum and for some time just read everything what looks interesting. This forrum is very good I think it is BEST marine aquarium forum!

Im not well in english so i must say: Sorry for my "english"

I catch some larvae of L. wundermanni and put them in to 20 litter tank with phytoplankton and small brineshrimp

Each day on morning I add 1 l phyto and 2 ml JBL brineshrimp eggs

I have only 20 or 30 larvae. They are 6 day old, feel fine, hunt for brineshrimps and swim quite fast.

For me breeding Wundermanni is not more difficult since breeding appistogramma >>> at least now...

Yesterday i had 20 larvae. They were quite big [5 or 6 mm] and had swimming legs. Some of they lost this legs and look like really shrimp.

Today leave only 5 larvae.

I hope that the larvae are somwere in the green water but i can't see them...

I feed them : bbs phytoplankton[green water] and brachionus

i have phyto invasion in my main tank... and i must buy uv lamp to kill the phytoplankton in the main tank.

I change 2 l water in one hour >> larval tank is conekt with the main tank [200 l].

I have few new larvae [100 or more] in two 20 l tanks

sory for bad english...

Can you post a picture of what type of container you are using to rear the babies in? I plan to start on L Wundermanni very soon, but have no idea on what to do. Did they eat the newly hatched brine shrimp? If so, that is great news!

l. seticaudata and l. boggessi larvae. Great lysmata mix: 2 days old and ~1, ~2, ~3 and ~4 weeks old. Shrimp eat tons of nhbbs, rotifers and some calanoid copepods.
