Opistognathus aurifrons - Breeding log - LethargicCoder

Picked up 4 Pearly jawfish today. They like their shipping tubes so much they won't leave them. Well one ventured out for a bit but is back in with the single one pictured.

Hopefully the fact that they are staying 2 to a tube is a good sign that I have 2 potential pairs. I'll post some better pictures when they star popping out more.

Acquired: Nov 8, 2009
Source: wild caught
Tank: currently a 10g QT tank
Temp: 80F
Substrate: none but pipes provided for hiding.

They seem to be doing well so far. They do eat anything I put in the tank (formula 1 & 2 pellets, NLS pellets and frozen foods such as mysis, brine shrimp, krill, bloodworms, etc.).

Seems like I have 2 that occupy pipes next to each other in the front left corner and 2 next to each other on the right side. Maybe the makings of 2 pair. I'm going to start setting up a tank with substrate for them this week.
