Yellowhead eggs

I _thought_ this guy had eggs last week, but I only got one peek at them and never saw them again. He has much more confidence this time.

A great end to a truly rotten week.

Andy
Beautiful pictures, as always.
Will has been giving me advice on taking pics of my fish, but so far I still stink at it. :(

You are going to give it a try at raising these guys, right?
I would love to see some development pics.

Thanks, y'all! Looked like he was close to releasing right before light's-out. Sorry the pics are missing at the moment. I had some IT issues early in the week, patched them, but am now trying to fix them.

Sorry, but we need an update here! Did he release last night? And are you going to try to rear them?

I love jawfish, and wish the best! Pics would be great too!

Come on Andy we are all waiting. :D I hope it went well. And if for some reason it didn't I'm sure he will hold again so it's all good. 8)

Looks to me like he released the first night and I missed 'em. :( Male and female spent the night in the same (female's) burrow last night and then the female moved in the morning. The male isn't showing eggs, but is not leaving the burrow, is staying lower than normal, and he's acting distracted (won't follow my finger around the glass). Makes me think that he's keeping a current going with his tail fin or something. Maybe.

So, I'm pretty bummed. The battery on the flashlight was low on the night of release and I worked really late (~3AM, with computer monitor making lots of light) and I think one of those was why I didn't manage to collect anything. Next chance on the citrons should be tonight, though, and the snagger is right over their nest. Here's hoping....

Heck, yes, I'm going to try to raise 'em. :) I have a big tub, _full_ of rots and ready for whatever comes up.

Andy check tonight and see if you get any larvae. Maybe all or part of the nest is still there. But anyway like I said before if he got that far once he will again. Just watch out for aiptasia  Look on the brite side at least you still have them unlike my stupid butt with another jawfish. You'll get it. And good luck with your gobies. :)

The gobies hatched, but nothing snagged by the snagger. Hmm. I think I must have the flow turned down too much. I'll up it and continue trying.

This is a new male. He stepped up after we lost the last one.

Been a week. Any updates on the latest batch of eggs?

You have just the two in a tank, or more?

Yes. It looks like he released night before last. It seems like the female has to completely re-make her burrow right before she gives the male new eggs. That process started this afternoon.

I currently have 2 or 3 in the tank. One of them moved into one of my large pieces of rockwork and I haven't seen it lately.
