Please ID my Clownfish

Postby adzzzy » Tue Sep 24, 2013 3:32 am

Hi all,

Can someone please ID my clownfish breeding pair as I am sure they are the Latezonatus Clownfish and have heard they are rare. ( Could be wrong.)

I know they are from Western Australia and there offspring are showing some unique colour variations.

Can someone also please tell me there current price in Australia?

Thanks in advance :D

Can anyone else shine some light. They may be black clarkii clownfish.

If so what is the differences between the latz and black clownfish?

They are clarkii.

WA has lovely clarkii clowns, quite often not as deep through the body as those from elsewhere..... And lots of black.

The difference between clarkii and latz are many, they come from different groups of clowns. Latz are found in Eastern Australia from Brisbane down to Lord Howe and love cold water. The biggest difference is the price.... Latz can get 200 a pair, even in Brisbane as much of their wild habitat is now a marine park and off limits to collectors.... Where you can get them, you have to dive deep!
