can anyone help?

can anyone help?

Postby Heisenberg » Wed May 29, 2013 12:40 am

I have a clownfish system and it seems that all my clowns "flash" and dart against their pot as if they have gill flukes.
ive treated with prazipro, tried hypo, put a uv sterilizer on, everything.
my nitrates are at 40
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
ph 8.1 - 8.2
temp 82-84

they all eat fine. ive never seen a single spot on them.
its been going on for months now.
they actively clean their pots but randomly theyll dart all over and rub their gills against the pot.
is this normal?

Not normal, but if gill scratching is occasional, the fish breath and eat normally, they are wild caught, and of course there are no skin lesions;I would just wait and see

Thanks.
It's so weird I've tried everything.

The females have become extremely aggressive over the week.
Like really really aggressive.
They attack me when I feed them. One actually splashed me from charging out of her pot at me so quickly.
They are all making dry runs along the pots (a quick swoop with their bellies against the pot)
Is this a good sign? Could the aggression be a sign of spawning ?
